The Milwaukee Bucks' mid-season turmoil continues as the team could reportedly offer two veterans in Pat Connaughton and Cam Payne as trade targets. However, NBA fans aren't convinced that this scenario will attract many suitors.

The Bucks, who surprisingly fired head coach Adrian Griffin on Tuesday and named Doc Rivers on Wednesday, are aiming to bolster their roster before the Feb. 8 trade deadline. Connaughton, a six-year veteran and 2021 overall pick, and Payne, a recently added backup point guard, are both in line for a trade.

News of the trade package has raised questions from fans about its league-wide appeal. Comments such as "could get them Kilian Hayes" and "other NBA teams ...... "comments reflect a general lack of confidence among fans." Comments such as these reflect a general lack of confidence. Some even joked about trading "half-eaten tuna sandwiches" or peanuts for the two.

Behind the fan banter, the Bucks are looking to improve on the offensive end of the floor and more importantly upgrade their perimeter defence to match their potent offence. According to Jake Fisher of Yahoo Sports, the Bucks have been exploring options, and they have been in contact with multiple teams regarding the future 35th pick in the 2024 draft. Additionally, sources say they are considering various trade combinations of Connaughton and Payne to compensate for their defensive weaknesses.

Can the Bucks turn this disappointing combination into a meaningful filler? Only time will tell, but the scepticism of fans suggests that they may need to sweeten the deal to get the defensive upgrades they want.
